Monkey Business

I can feel the endorphins flowing through my body once again now that I’m back to running! I’ve got the itch to race so what better opportunity than The Surf Monkey in Oceanside this Saturday!

Shores / Aquathlon

The Surf Monkey is a collection of three events: running, swimming and stand up paddle boarding. I’m racing on behalf of my sponsor, EXSTA Real Energy, and will be taking on the “King Monkey Stage Race,” which is a combination of all 3 events.

7:00am - 5km Road Run Presented by Newton Running
8:00am - 1 mile rough water open swim Presented by XTERRA Wetsuits
9:00am – 6 mile paddleboard/SUP race

I really like the layout of the race. It’s obviously different than a triathlon because you don’t do all 3 events continuously so there is a break between each. That will be good for recovery and will help for the next event although it would be pretty cool to bust out all 3 in a row without a break until the end.

I'll see you back here after the race. Make it a great week!
