My calendar is packed with events for the final weeks of the year and things are about to get really exciting!

Finding time to prepare for the back-to-back races in December was a challenge, so I’ve decided to switch from the 50M race to the 50K distance for The North Face Endurance Challenge Championship in San Francisco. This not only accommodates my travel schedule better, but it enhances the social aspects of this trip. I’m beyond stoked to meet up with folks in SF and at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Las Vegas. It’ll be great to see people I haven’t seen in a while and to finally meet those I’ve known for a couple years through the online endurance community.

Training is going very well. I’ve been growing my weekly mileage and feeling smooth. I’ve noticed a significant increase in power from the strength and conditioning training I’ve done with the ActiveX and High Voltage Fitness crews.

I’m heading out to the Valley of the Moon this weekend for some camping, climbing and running. I’ve yet to explore this remote area of San Diego County so I’m excited for this weekend’s adventure.

Next weekend, my buddies and I depart on our 10-day Thanksgiving road trip so stay tuned for the Valley of the Moon recap and our road trip preview next week!

  2. You run in some amazingly beautiful places. Wow. So jealous - much better than running down dirty concrete streets....

Did you enter Western States lottery? If I don't get in (which I'm so petrified about that race, I'm halfway hoping I don't), I plan on doing SD100. I'll be in touch.

  3. Hey Cherie, thanks. Yeah SoCal is gorgeous and very photogenic. Makes it easy to snap shots with my iPhone :)

I didn't enter the WS100 lotto as another 100-miler in 2010 is not a priority. I'm forecasting a shift towards multi-day runs, more mountaineering in the Sierra, 24-hour mountain bike racing and this 10-mile open-water swim I've been meaning to attempt...

Keep me posted on your plans--would be awesome if you come run SD100. Heard talk they are redesigning the course...

  5. your adventures are awesome! I love how you do so much more then just run, swim, and/orbike. 24 hour biking??? nuts! Keep blogging - it's great following your adventures and realize there are more ways to train than just hitting the pavement!

  6. Adam, I'm glad you enjoy following these adventures. If you ever want to meet up in SD for some fun training in the sun, just let me know!
